For Fathead’s next versus episode he and Ride UK decided to do something special in memory of Stephen Sutton who passed away last month. Inspired by that story Fathead decided he’d like to visit Rad BMX Shop, Alpha and Source to try and get those guys to help donate parts for a bike that will be auctioned on Ebay for Stephen’s charity. The edit and auction will go live in a couple of weeks. Don’t worry though, there’ll be his usual antics and riding with the locals as per usual too. Here’s what he had to say..
“The BMX community in Harrogate lost a fellow rider called Aidan Wray to cancer a few years ago. I’d been watching the news when Stephen Sutton’s story came up and it brought everything back. We were planning to film a new VS episode but scratched it and decided to do something FOR The Teenage Cancer Trust instead. We came up with the idea of a UK road trip to persuade shops to donate parts to build a complete bike so we can auction it off.
I hope this video shows that doing something for a good cause can be fun, especially while having my mates in for the ride too. I’d like to say a big thank you to The Source, Alpha and Rad and urge all riders to do something selfless today, forget the footage you’re going to send to that sponsor to try and get a hook up, forget your BMX ego for one day and pack a big bag, go camping and raise some money for a great cause.” – FATHEAD
